The Vortex Razor HD 4000 is a compact, angle-compensated laser rangefinder built for hunters, archers and long-range shooters who need fast, accurate data in demanding terrain. It ranges reflective targets out to 4000 yards, tree-sized targets to 2500 yards, and deer-sized targets to 2200 yards, with an integrated inclinometer measuring angle up to 70 uphill or downhill for significantly improved first-shot accuracy.

Four targeting modes cover any ranging situation: Normal Mode delivers the strongest range result for everyday use, First Mode locks onto the closest target when ranging through foreground clutter, Last Mode locks onto the farthest target behind brush or trees, and Extended Laser Range (ELR) Mode reaches smaller, less reflective targets at maximum distance. HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) mode gives shooters an angle-adjusted range for standard ballistic drop calculations, while LOS (Line of Sight) mode provides a true, uncorrected distance for slope-correcting ballistic apps or drop cards, both with a scan feature built in. A short 5-yard minimum range makes it just as useful for bow hunters up close as it is for rifle shooters ranging thousands of yards out.

Optically, HD extra-low dispersion glass and Vortex's proprietary XR Plus fully multi-coated optics deliver bright, sharp, distortion-free views with accurate color rendition, while scratch-resistant ArmorTek coating protects the lenses in the field. A simple two-button interface and bright LED display with five brightness settings keep operation fast in any light, and the lightweight magnesium alloy housing, wrapped in slip-resistant protective armor, is sealed to an IPX7 waterproof and submersible rating.
