DA1 - Self-Adjusting Portable DAC & Amp A pocket-sized decoder and headphone amplifier that turns any phone, tablet or laptop into a serious hi-fi source. Hi-Res Audio certified, driver-free, and built around the ESS9270 - with an output stage you can adjust in 30 steps to match the earphones you actually own.

30-Step Adjustment, Double the Fun Instead of a fixed output, the DA1 gives you thirty precisely placed power points. Dial in the setting that suits your earphones and hear the difference: tighter control, cleaner dynamics, and more headroom than a one-size-fits-all dongle.

Adjustable Output Power The DA1's adjustable output-power system places output power across 30 discrete points, so it matches front-end gear of different impedances far more accurately. The result is a meaningful reduction in the linear and non-linear distortion caused by overload - your IEMs are driven properly, not just loudly.

Better Matched to Low-Impedance Earphones After studying how people actually listen, we balanced size, sound quality, heat and power consumption, then chose an output gain optimised for today's low-impedance, high-sensitivity in-ear monitors. Drive level reaches a maximum of 2 Vrms with a maximum output of 70 mW @ 32 - enough to drive most IEMs and portable over-ear headphones comfortably at everyday listening levels.

High-Integration, High-Spec ESS9270 For a portable decoder and amplifier, a high-performance, highly integrated chip is the source of a good listening experience. After testing many solutions, the Whizzer audio engineering department chose the ESS9270 as the core of the DA1. Inside a very small package it integrates high-performance DAC and ADC modules together with SABRE amplification circuitry, with a maximum theoretical signal-to-noise ratio of +116 dB. After careful tuning, it outputs a smooth, flat and detail-rich audio signal.

Circuit Finely Tuned by Whizzer's Audio Engineering Department To express our sound aesthetic more faithfully, selected capacitor circuits were added around the chip to improve the sound issues caused by the amplification module driving the signal directly. Good peripheral circuit design further lowers the circuit noise floor, making the sound cleaner and smoother.

High-Quality 5N Oxygen-Free Copper Cable High-quality 5N oxygen-free copper signal conductors keep digital transmission stable and effectively reduce jitter, which further improves clarity. High-elasticity insulation and a four-strand smooth-twist braid also make the cable more flexible and more durable - the kind of cable that survives daily pocket life.

Hardware Decoding of All Codecs Up to 32 Bit / 384 kHz Using the ESS9270, the DA1 hardware-decodes up to 32 Bit / 384 kHz PCM as well as DSD128 over DoP. An independent crystal-oscillator chip keeps timing clean, so hi-res libraries and streaming platforms are reproduced at their full quality rather than being resampled by your phone.

Sound-Quality Indicator Light Three levels of light show the bit rate and format the music is using right now - useful, and a quiet piece of industrial design in its own right. Pink: connection detection. Blue: 32-48 kHz. Green: DSD64 88.2-192 kHz. Red-pink: DSD128 352.8-384 kHz.

Driver-Free Plug-and-Play on Every System Supports HiBy Music Exclusive Mode PC / Mac / Android With the included C-to-A adapter, the DA1 supports mainstream USB-C Android devices, iPad and macOS, and plugs directly into a Windows 10 PC without drivers - the music companion for your travels. Using third-party adapters it can connect to even more mobile devices, and with HiBy Music's exclusive mode your phone can output purer, high-quality audio without system up-sampling.

Chip-Integrated High-Spec DAC Full Support for Standard Microphones The independent DAC module delivers higher-quality analogue-to-digital conversion for cleaner calls and recordings. Its zero transmission delay also means that, paired with a quality in-line-microphone earphone, the DA1 is more than capable in live streaming, karaoke and vlogging - scenarios that demand high quality in both directions.

Natural Grip, Easier Adjustment The rectangular construction keeps the cross-sectional area small so the device is easy to operate - and it is the smallest form this stacked circuit can take. The DA1's design followed naturally from that requirement.

Five-Axis Vector Precision Machining The DA1's body is cut from a single block of aluminium and machined almost a hundred times on a five-axis precision carving machine. A simple form combined with high-level craftsmanship makes every detail as flawless as a crafted object.
