Description

The WVS R7FA4 Plus B Development Board combines the processing capabilities of a Renesas RA4M1 microcontroller with the wireless connectivity of an Espressif ESP32-S3FN8 module. Designed in a form factor compatible with the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, the board provides a flexible platform for embedded development, automation, robotics, IoT and connected maker projects.

The Renesas RA4M1 microcontroller uses a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 core running at 48MHz, while the onboard ESP32-S3FN8 provides dual-core 32-bit Xtensa LX7 processing with a clock frequency of up to 240MHz. The ESP32-S3FN8 adds 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, enabling wireless communication, remote monitoring and cloud-connected applications.

The board includes an onboard 12×8 red LED matrix for displaying animations, icons, messages or sensor data without requiring additional display hardware. It also features Qwiic connectors, VRTC and OFF pins, an ICSP interface, 5V/3.3V power headers, CAN bus, DAC functionality and operational amplifiers for expanded project flexibility.

With USB-C and external VIN power options, status indicators, a convenient lateral reset button and a low-profile DC jack, the R7FA4 Plus B is designed for both development and integration with expansion shields and experimental boards.
