Zinsser WaterTite Flexible Primer & Finish Waterproofing Coat White 3.78L

Zinsser WaterTite Flexible Primer & Finish is a high-build acrylic latex waterproofing coating with elastomeric qualities, so it expands and contracts with the surface and bridges hairline cracks up to 1.6 mm. It resists wind-driven rain, moisture and mildew, blocks efflorescence and withstands high-pH surfaces up to 13.8. Use it as a primer on its own or as both primer and finish coat; it dries to a smooth, flat white finish.

Popular uses include exterior concrete, cement block, brick, stucco, tilt-up and poured concrete walls, cinder block and masonry boundary walls, and other vertical surfaces that suffer from damp or wind-driven rain.

Application tips: Apply only when air, material and surface temperatures are between 10 C and 32 C and humidity is 85% or less. Surfaces must be clean, dry and sound, free of dirt, efflorescence, mould, algae and release agents, and new concrete must cure for at least 3 days. Splash water on the surface to test: if it darkens you can coat; if it beads, clean mechanically or chemically and retest. Open bug-holes so the coating penetrates, and fill cracks and holes deeper than 1.6 mm with WaterTite Hydraulic Cement (allow it to dry fully). Stir thoroughly before and during use and do not thin. Apply one coat as a primer, or two coats as primer and finish, with a quality synthetic 75-100 mm brush or 19 mm nap roller, back-brushing the first coat; the first coat should go on at about 100-135 sq ft per US gallon (roughly 2.5-3.3 m per litre). It can also be airless sprayed, then back-rolled. Dries to the touch in 4 hours; allow at least 2 hours before the second coat, full cure takes 7 days, and rain protection is needed for 8 hours. It does not hold back hydrostatic water pressure and is not for swimming pools, potable water, horizontal surfaces or glazed and non-porous surfaces. Wear a respirator and take lead-dust precautions when removing old paint. Clean up with soapy water.
