Zinsser WaterTite General Purpose Waterproofing Paint White 3.78L

Zinsser WaterTite General Purpose Waterproofing Paint is a low-odour, water-based styrene acrylic coating that forms a waterproof barrier on interior and exterior concrete block and cast-in-place concrete. It withstands water pressure up to 10 psi (about 0.7 bar) and dries to a smooth, flat white finish that can be tinted lightly or topcoated with latex, oil-based or epoxy paints.

Popular uses include basements, cellars and other damp areas, concrete block and masonry walls, retaining walls and foundation walls, above and below grade.

Application tips: Apply only when air, material and surface temperatures are between 10 C and 32 C and humidity is 85% or less. Surfaces must be clean, dry and sound and free of dirt, efflorescence, mould, algae and sandy mortar, and new concrete must cure for at least 7 days. To check for release agents, splash water on the surface; if it darkens you can coat, and if it beads, clean and retest. Remove efflorescence with WaterTite Etch, wearing goggles, gloves and a respirator, and rinse well. Fill bug-holes deeper than 3 mm with WaterTite Hydraulic Cement and dynamic cracks and joints with WaterTite Polyurethane Sealant. Stir thoroughly and do not thin. Apply two coats with a quality synthetic brush or 19 mm nap roller, back-brushing the first coat into the pores; porous block may need a third coat. It can be airless sprayed, then back-rolled. Dries to the touch in 2 hours; wait at least 2 hours before the second coat, check for pinholes, allow 7 days to cure and protect from rain for 8 hours. Not elastomeric and not for glazed or non-porous surfaces. Take lead-dust precautions when removing old paint, and clean up with soapy water.
