Zinsser WaterTite LX Ultra M&M-Proof Waterproofing Paint White 3.78L

Zinsser WaterTite LX Ultra Mold & Mildew-Proof Waterproofing Paint is a water-based styrene acrylic copolymer coating that forms a continuous barrier against water on interior and exterior concrete and masonry. It resists hydrostatic pressure (up to 20 psi, about 1.4 bar), wind-driven rain, mould, mildew and efflorescence. It dries to a smooth, bright white finish that can also be tinted to off-white and pastel shades.

Popular uses include basement and cellar walls, retaining walls, concrete block and masonry walls, planters, fountains, privacy fences, canals and holding basins, above and below grade.

Application tips:

Apply only when air, material and surface temperatures are between 10 C and 32 C and humidity is 85% or less. Surfaces must be clean, dry and sound, free of dirt, efflorescence, mould, algae and sandy mortar, and new concrete must cure for at least 7 days. To check for release agents, sprinkle water on the surface; if it darkens, you can coat it. Remove efflorescence with WaterTite Etch or equivalent and rinse well; the surface may be damp but not glistening. Seal cracks and joints with WaterTite Hydraulic Cement or Polyurethane Sealant. Mix thoroughly and do not thin. Apply two or three coats to build a pinhole-free film, using a quality synthetic brush or 19 mm nap roller, or airless or conventional spray; back-brush the first coat to work it into the pores. It dries to the touch in 2 hours; allow at least 2 hours before the second coat, check for pinholes, and protect from rain for 8 hours. Not elastomeric, so it will not bridge cracks or movement joints, and not for glazed or non-porous surfaces. Wear a respirator and take lead-dust precautions when removing old paint. Clean up with soapy water.
