The Seiko Prospex Samurai SRPL13K1 is part of Seiko's celebrated diving watch lineage, redesigned for its 20th anniversary with a smaller, sleeker profile while staying true to the design that earned it the "Samurai" nickname. Distinctive sword-shaped hands and a bold, angular case with sharp, strong lines give the watch a quietly aggressive character - angles show up throughout the design, from the lugs to the indices to the five-sided links in the bracelet, setting it apart from the typical dive-watch template. Despite the fierce name, the overall presence is surprisingly refined and elegant on the wrist.

Powering the watch is Seiko's in-house Caliber 4R35, an automatic movement with manual winding and hacking seconds capability, running at 21,600 vph across 23 jewels with a power reserve of approximately 41 hours and accuracy of -35/+45 seconds per day. The stainless steel case measures 41.7mm in diameter, 12.3mm thick, with a 49.5mm case length - compact for a modern diver, giving it real wrist presence while remaining comfortable and wearable thanks to its slimmed-down proportions compared to earlier Samurai generations.

Built to genuine diving specification, the SRPL13K1 offers 200m water resistance, a screw-down crown and case back, and a matte, knurled unidirectional rotating bezel that mirrors the grip texture of the crown. A Hardlex crystal protects the black dial, and LumiBrite luminous coating on the hands, indexes, and bezel ensures excellent visibility in low light or underwater. The watch is completed with a fully brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a three-fold clasp with secure lock, push-button release, and diver's extension, and offers 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance. At 170.0g, it carries the reassuring heft of a serious tool watch.
