Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle Blue Geode 120 Piece Gift Box

Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle, Blue Geode - a laser-cut agate-slice puzzle that arrives in its own wooden keepsake box.

This is a puzzle you give as a gift without wrapping it. The box is wood, not cardboard, printed with the geode on the lid, and it is good enough to keep on a shelf long after the puzzle inside has been built a dozen times. Inside, the pieces come in a black organza drawstring bag.

The design is a sliced blue agate, with concentric bands rippling out from a small crystal centre through sapphire, cobalt and pale ice blue, edged in a thin line of gold. The puzzle is cut to the uneven outline of the stone itself rather than a rectangle, and hidden among the ordinary pieces are whimsy pieces cut into animal shapes.

Why You'll Love It:

• A wooden gift box, not a cardboard sleeve - The box is sturdy printed wood with a slide-in lid. It looks like a gift on its own and doubles as storage, so the puzzle keeps well between builds.
• A proper challenge - There are no faces, no feathers and no obvious landmarks here, just bands of blue shading into one another. This is the hardest design in the range and the one experienced builders will enjoy most.
• Whimsy pieces to find - Some pieces are cut into animal silhouettes instead of standard jigsaw tabs. Spotting them as you go is the part people remember.
• Shaped, not square - The puzzle is cut to the geode's own irregular outline, gold edge and all, so the finished picture has no straight border anywhere.
• Real laser-cut wood - Solid wooden pieces with clean edges. They sit flat, click together properly and survive being rebuilt far better than cardboard.
• Grown-up colours - Blue, white and gold rather than bright primaries, which makes it the one in the range that suits an office, a study or a modern lounge.
• Organza storage bag - The pieces come in a drawstring bag, so nothing gets lost in the bottom of the box.
• A gift with no animal attached - Useful when you are buying for an adult and want something that works as decor rather than a novelty.

A Note on Difficulty:

Because the artwork is banded rather than figurative, you sort this one by shade and by the direction the bands run rather than by recognisable objects. That makes it slower and more absorbing than the animal designs at the same piece count. If you are buying for a child or a first-time wooden-puzzle builder, one of the animal designs will be the better choice.

About Whimsy Pieces:

Whimsy pieces are a tradition from old hand-cut wooden puzzles. Instead of the usual interlocking tab shape, a few pieces are cut into recognisable silhouettes, here animal shapes. You do not know how many there are or where they will turn up, which gives you a small reason to look closely at every piece rather than rushing the fill.

Who Is It For:

• Experienced puzzle builders who want something genuinely difficult.
• Anyone who likes crystals, geodes, agate slices or geological pattern.
• People buying for an adult who would rather have something quiet and modern than a bright animal.
• Gift givers who want something that looks considered straight out of the box.
